ParkNCharge
Plate-reading cameras

The plate is the ticket.

Cameras read plates at entry and exit and match them to permits, bookings and open sessions. Permit holders and booked drivers go straight through; everyone else pays — and every read is logged.

The problem

Why paper tickets and manual checks slow the gate

Tickets get lost, permits get lent, and attendants can’t check every car at rush hour.

  • Queues while tickets are issued and checked.
  • Lost tickets and disputed entry times.
  • Permits shared between cars.
  • No record of which car came in when.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can we use our existing cameras?

Often, if they can send their plate reads to our event endpoint. We check during the site survey.

What happens if a plate is misread?

Staff can see the image and correct it, and the security app can always take over at the gate.

Do we need barriers too?

Not always. Cameras can record sessions without barriers; add barrier control where you need to stop cars physically.
